On the other side of fear lies a place more perfect than your wildest dreams. It is everything you could possibly imagine and more. It is calm and still, but chaotic and messy. There is love and happiness and everything you ever wanted.
But the only way to get there is change.
You must change your life and direct it in the direction of your dreams. Because that’s how you find your happiness. That’s how you find where you truly belong.
But change is scary. It is downright terrifying. And that’s where I find myself.
What happens when I take that leap of faith and everything changes for the worse. What if everything changes and it wasn’t what I expected. What if it’s just all too much.
I know that change is inevitable in life. It’s essentially impossible to keep everything the same. Because no matter how hard you try, outside factors will always make it impossible. As the world changes, each individual life changes too.
And no one fears the minor changes we can’t control. But yet for some reason, when we decide to make our lives change by our own doing. All of a sudden, fear is right there telling us to go back, turn around, this is not what you want.
It’s beyond frustrating.
So what happens when we just accept change to be difficult and scary? What if we just expect it to be like this and realize the magic that’ll come down the road. We sometimes get so caught up in the instant effect, we forget about what’s to come.
If following a dream is not worth the heartache and struggle and pain, is it actually the dream for us to follow? If you aren’t willing to drop everything you’ve ever known and step out of your comfort zone for the potential of reaching this dream, is it worth it to stick with it?
Does the change come by following a dream or turning direction altogether?
All I know is that I want something to change in my life, yet just like so many other people I am terrified of the outcome. I am terrified of putting in so much effort, yet come out the other side more broken and tired.
But in time I think I’ll make the plunge. Maybe with the right person and the right situation, I’ll be able to give my energy to change.
And honestly, I dare you to try the same.
It doesn’t have to be drastic or life changing. But change something in your life to make it more positive and “perfect" in your eyes. You never know what’ll lie ahead.
